ABOUT LIZZY
Twenty-five year old Lizzy Loeb was born in NYC into a world of music as the daughter of the Spanish singer/songwriter Carmen Cuesta and Jazz Guitarist/Composer Chuck Loeb. While always active in music, it wasnt until she was fifteen that she found her passion for the art of guitar-playing. Almost immediately upon learning a few chords, she began writing her own songs. She started learning by the Standards, accompanying herself singing. Her musical influences were and are eclectic and obsessive, ranging from James Taylor, Stevie Wonder and The Beatles to Ella Fitzgerald. She , a bit jealously, as her jazz musician parents and all their peers got together to record and play, impatiently waiting to be a part of it. Meanwhile she was unashamedly belting along with Mariah Carey. "She's a genius, and singing along with her records probably taught me to sing."The multi-talented singer, songwriter and guitarist grew up mainly in a tiny suburban town a short train ride from NYC, with all summers spent in Spain with her mother's family. It was an extraordinary change of pace that impacted her greatly, as she went from her home so close to the most famous metropolis in the world, to a tiny village across the ocean-- all wheat and sunflower fields-- where her grandparents lived. "It's the closest I'll ever get to time-traveling," says Lizzy. At an early age, Lizzy began performing and singing on many recordings, many times in the home studio. She hasn't stopped since. She has performed in clubs and concerts in NYC, Madrid, London, Berlin, etc, both solo and with some of the best musicians out there. "Musicians are my heros. It takes so many hours of study plus a bottomless, unbreakable well of love for music to pursue it as a craft." She is building up a dedicated fan base and following through live performances, videos and her widening presence on the Internet. The first compilation of Lizzys original music was released with an independent label in 2009 on her first CD Drawing Lines. It was rereleased in Germany as "The One" in September 2011. An active songwriter, her second is in the works, to be released within the year! In addition, she has had many of her songs recorded with others, including two songs with the renowned German trumpet-player, Till Bronner. Other artists shes worked with include Michael Franks, George Fenton, Mitch Forman, Giullio Carmassi, Ari Hest, and of course Mum and Dad. She was also a featured performer on BBC 2s Friday Night is Music Night with world acclaimed composer George Fenton known for his work writing film scores and music for television, both singing and composing. Lizzy also performed at one of the renown TED Talk conferences recently, in South Carolina. The video will later be streamed and viewed by millions. Lizzy is a currently aTop Ten Artists on PopJazzRadio.com www.popjazzradio.com/playlist/pop-jazz-charts/While spending most of the last year traveling overseas in Spain and Germany, she will be back in the Northeast by the end of the year and will be playing back in her neck of the woods. Lizzy will also be on tour in Germany most of next year!"It's all I really know, and it's my greatest love-- my not-so-secret boyfriend I will always have on the side. It's like going into the family business, and weirdly, I don't have to rebel!"-Lizzy on music"Lizzy Loeb does not sing, instead she caresses the song with inflection and phrasing that is so heartfelt and lovely as to easily confirm the belief in a higher power as talent such as this simply doesnt happen by accident." -Digital Jazz News (2011)"Lizzy Loebs new CD Drawing Lines is a knockout debut release. Its rare that a songwriter of her youthful age comes along with such maturity and raw musical talent. Add to that Loebs tasteful guitar playing, and sincere and easily identifiable voice, and it becomes clear that Loeb is the real deal.""Every now and then I come across a music artist that really stands out from the rest of the crowd. Her name is Lizzy Loeb..." (M. Zone)"Having played in over a thousand recordings, and with many grammy winners (...) I would say that Lizzy is the perfect amalgam (...) Incredibly well produced, beautiful voice, great guitar playing-- real originality."
